Francis Smith, LMSW Primary Therapist
Hi, I'm Francis Smith, Franky preferably. I have been in the mental health field sense 1996. I was educated at Texas Woman’s University with a bachelor of science in Social Work then at the University of Texas at Arlington with a master of science in Social Work. I have helped people with a variety of issues throughout the years to include depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, physical emotional sexual and religious abuse, domestic violence, relationship issues, substance use, and gender dysphoria.
I'm not your typical therapist. I am transgender. Having seen life through the eyes and emotions of both genders has helped me to gain a unique understanding of issues. While my focus is on gender and LGBT issues I am a general practitioner therefore I work with all kinds of issues. I’ve had many challenges in my life that led me to seek alternative healing methods as well as conventional therapy on my journey to wholeness. In my practice I draw from many different healing modalities including Eastern healing arts, Native American practices, as well as psychotherapy.
When you’re ready to get down to the heart of the matter and come to wholeness in your life, give me a call.
